How Chiropractic Can Address Your Low Back Pain

person with back pain sitting at deskYou just recently hurt your back, or you’ve got some low back pain in general, and you’re trying to figure out what’s going on. Maybe a friend told you to go to a chiropractor, and you think, what can a chiropractor do for me?

The first step in treating low back pain is to do a thorough assessment of your lumbar region to rule out any red flags or conditions that are out of the scope of a chiropractor to treat. With no red flags, most lumbar pain can be treated conservatively, which means you don’t need surgery most of the time.

With conservative chiropractic care, most people respond quickly and can bounce back to doing whatever they used to do.

The Flow of a Chiropractic Visit

  • History of your condition and how it happened
  • Physical exam of the area
  • Diagnosis and education of the condition
  • Treatment

The treatment used can be chiropractic manipulation, dry needling, end-range mechanical loading (MDT), and more. Here in our office, we also use what is called Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS). This form of rehab helps stabilize any joint, allowing it to work better.
